We condemn Trump’s deployment of troops to Los Angeles and call upon members of Congress to insist that his moves toward dictatorship must be unequivocally rejected. History will remember this moment. We cannot depend on elected officials to solve the problems that they themselves have helped to create with their overt actions or meek passivity. In communities across the United States, it is up to us to emphatically and nonviolently oppose every repressive move by the federal government.
