From rainforest destruction hidden in the supply chains of supermarkets to factory farm waste polluting our local rivers, big business is causing environmental destruction and human misery in the UK and overseas. And largely getting away scot-free.

Next week we’re heading to 10 Downing Street with allies from the Corporate Justice Coalition to demand a new law to finally hold UK companies to account.

Whether it's timber for furniture or palm oil in processed foods, we often unknowingly buy products linked to devastating environmental and human impacts.

Not only are UK companies linked to the destruction of forests like the Amazon through their global supply chains, they're also complicit in trashing the environment at home. Just think of all the waste washing into our rivers from factory farmed pigs and chickens next time it rains.

YouGov polling shows that 83% of the British public support new laws to stop environmental harms in UK company supply chains. With that in mind, we want the UK government to commit to tackling the problem. And to demonstrate leadership at the UN climate talks when they're held in the Amazon rainforest this November.
