Joni Ernst cheered on Elon Musk as he attacked our farmers, teachers, seniors, and hospital workers.

John –

By now, you've probably seen more than a few jokes made about Elon Musk's and Donald Trump's very public breakup. But at the end of the day, the whole saga is no laughing matter.

For months, Musk had free rein to take actions that hurt Iowans. The fact that someone like him wielded the policy influence he did speaks to our broken political system.

I'm running for Senate to secure our democracy from unelected billionaires — and because I'm sick of politicians like Joni Ernst who kowtow to billionaires at the expense of hard-working people. If you share that goal, can I count on your support today?

Musk spent hundreds of millions of dollars to elect a President and Congress that aligned with his goals. He was rewarded by being given unprecedented access to gut services that so many rely on.

In the name of "efficiency," Musk and his minions slashed agricultural aid, public education, and health care. They even pored through our private Social Security data.

The whole time, Joni Ernst was cheering Musk on. She even led a new Senate caucus with the specific purpose of advising Musk's team on what to cut.

Musk figured that if you donate enough money and fund enough ads, you can skip the whole democracy part to play president and make changes that benefit yourself. Apparently, Joni Ernst agreed!

Ernst with Musk

While Ernst was helping Musk screw over farmers, teachers, seniors, and hospital workers, I was rallying with Iowans in Sioux City, Des Moines, and Davenport to fight back – well before I made the decision to run for Senate. I knew that we needed to speak out and show that we the people stood with our vulnerable neighbors in the face of greed, chaos, and cruelty.

I felt an undeniable desire for change among Iowans then, and it's only grown stronger since.

We are the campaign that can bring that change – because we answer to Iowans, not unelected billionaires.

So please, pitch in anything you can, and together, we will win!
