Our team is here working to remove dangerous language buried in the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” — the must-pass federal budget bill that would pave the way for toxic copper mining in the headwaters of the Boundary Waters. This could lead to irreversible damage to America’s most visited and beloved Wilderness.

If passed, this bill would:

• Overturn the hard-won 20-year mining ban in the Boundary Waters watershed,
• Reopen the door to toxic copper mining just upstream of the Wilderness, and
• Strip away critical environmental protections that keep this pristine place safe.

This bill has already passed the House. Now it’s heading to the Senate — and we’re running out of time to stop it.
