I joined the Minnesota Veterans Home in April 2025 as the Assistant Administrator. As a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, I bring years of experience in quality improvement, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. My leadership is guided by the servant leadership philosophy, prioritizing empathy, active listening, and growth to support a culture of trust, respect and team work. My approach reflects a deep commitment to excellence and compassion in Veteran care.
Since joining, I’ve begun contributing to several committees, including the Admissions Committee—helping fulfill the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) mission: “Serving Minnesota Veterans, their dependents, and survivors by connecting them with the federal and state care and benefits they earned.”
With extensive experience in long-term care and assisted living, I understand the significance of supporting seniors as they transition into new homes, ensuring they feel not only safe and well cared for, but are truly welcomed and valued. Helping Veterans access high-quality care in a joyful, respectful environment is not just a responsibility, it’s an honor.
It's a privilege to not only serve in the role as Assistant Administrator, but to do so as a Veteran creates a deeper heartfelt connection to the mission. I proudly joined the Minnesota National Guard at the age of 17 and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005 for a 20-month deployment with the 34th Red Bulls. My military experience has shaped my values, instilling teamwork, integrity, and accountability which guide and strengthen my commitment to our Veterans, their families and our team members.
The MDVA is unlike any other home. It's a place of service, sacrifice and dedication where everyday is Veterans Day and our Veterans are treated with the dignity, respect and gratitude they deeply deserve.
I look forward to making meaningful contributions to this organization—an organization built by generations of dedicated employees committed to serving those who served.
