I was the first woman ever elected Mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas. Here's a little lesson that role taught me:
DemocratsJoin us.

Strong women get the job done, John. I know that now as the Chair of the DNC's Women's Caucus, and I knew it back in 1987 when I became the first woman mayor of Little Rock, Arkansas.

That's why I'm so proud to see the growing slate of Democratic women who are running to help flip the U.S. Senate this November. A historically diverse slate of women helped our party win back the House in the 2018 midterms -- and we aren't nearly finished. Take a look at the names of some of the inspiring Democratic women who are running for Senate this year, with even more Senate nominees coming as states hold their primaries:

Paulette Jordan (ID), Theresa Greenfield (IA), Tina Smith (MN), Jeanne Shaheen (NH)

And that's just to name a few, John -- I can hardly wait to see what other incredible woman candidates emerge to represent our party as we fight to win back the soul of our country.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said a few years back that "Women belong in all places where decisions are being made." I couldn't agree more -- especially when it comes to the halls of Congress, governorships and state legislatures, and even the Oval Office. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves to continue electing Democratic women from every corner of this country who will fight for the working families of America. We can win that fight if we stand together and lift each other up. I know it.

Yours in the fight,

Lottie

P.S. Look out for a lot more to come about the incredible Democratic women candidates who are running for office across the country -- not to mention our party's eventual vice presidential candidate! Watch this space for more opportunities to support Democratic women from the top to the bottom of the ticket.
