Like you, I’ve seen the threats to wildlife and our shared vision multiply over the last 6 months. Whether from political instability, rollback of environmental protections, or reduction in federal staffing and funding for conservation initiatives, our communities face unprecedented obstacles to protecting and restoring wildlife habitat.
This is why I’m so proud to serve on this team, in this moment. Because after 30 years of leading in this work, our staff know how to move forward for wildlife even in the most challenging conditions.
Already this year, we’ve secured over $50 million in dedicated public funding for our state government partners so they can construct wildlife crossings and implement habitat connectivity projects. And we’ve guided the passage of new state laws that will center wildlife in the design of infrastructure and development. And it’s only June!
