Last Saturday, June 7, Our Shepherd, Cardinal Burke offered a Votive Mass of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as part of the “Jubilee 2025 1st Saturdays of Fátima”, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin. 

This is one of the most riveting and thorough homilies on Our Lady of Fatima, filled with factual details that the majority of practicing Catholics have never heard. A wakeup “call to action”.

Cardinal Burke states what the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus to the Servant of God, said to Sister Lucia, while a postulant with the Sisters of Saint Dorothy in Ponteverda, Spain.

The Child Jesus said: “Have compassion on the heart of your most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act or reparation to remove them.”

Our Lady then spoke: “Look, my daughter, at my heart, surrounded with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce me every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude.”

His Eminence then spoke about the July 13, 1917, third apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, where she showed the shepherd children an understandably terrifying vision of hell. Our Lady then explained how to save the souls of poor sinners who go there. That was the first secret; all three were mentioned in the homily.

Cardinal Burke touched upon:

 ~ the practical apostacy of our time, the going away from Christ by many in the Church and the violence and death which are its fruit – many reject the truth.

~ that only the faith which places man in the relationship of unity of heart with the Sacred Heart through the mediation of her Immaculate Heart can save man from the chastisements which rebellion against God necessarily brings upon its power, perpetrators and upon the whole of society. 

Regarding the Devotion of the First Saturdays, His Eminence stated that those who observe them with true repentance and a desire of reparation, the devotion is not an isolated act but expresses a way of life, namely, daily conversion of heart to Christ’s Most Sacred Heart under the maternal guidance and care of the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
