Medicaid is a deeply important program in our country — and that Republicans are cutting funding in the dead of night shows how out-of-touch and extreme they have become.
Republicans had disabled protestors who spoke out about the impacts of Medicaid wheeled out of committee. They are not holding town halls in their districts. They are doing everything they possibly can to ignore the people who are demanding that we step up and protect Medicaid.
Nearly 40% of children in Connecticut rely on Medicaid to access the health care they need.
41% of new moms and babies in Connecticut rely on Medicaid to stay healthy.
Almost HALF of working-age adults with disabilities need Medicaid to access the care they need to live full and happy lives.
And almost 70% of nursing home residents need Medicaid to pay for caregiving and prescriptions.
