John,
On Friday and over the weekend, ICE agents launched brutal raids across Los Angeles. In an attempt to fuel chaos and incite violence, they assaulted and abducted at least 100 people, including SEIU’s California President David Huerta.
Now they’re charging him with "conspiracy to impede an officer," a felony that could potentially imprison him for six years — all for monitoring an ICE raid.1
These provocations and escalations by the Trump administration are wildly dangerous. Now they’re deploying the National Guard, and threatening to send in Marines, all to create a climate of fear and stifle dissent.
It is absolutely critical that we speak up in solidarity now. Add your name: Urge your elected officials to demand the release of David Huerta and end the workplace ICE raids and their violent escalations in our communities.

Let us be perfectly clear: Provoked by ICE, communities across the country have mobilized to hold peaceful actions to protect families from mass abductions.
But Trump and his cronies don’t want that. They want to incite chaos and violence, because they want to find a way to justify their nationwide bounty hunt, and put working class communities in an even tighter stranglehold.
We will not take their bait.
We will continue to protect our communities that are under siege.
We will continue to come together — with neighbors and strangers alike — to oppose their tyranny.
And we will not be bullied or beaten into silence.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
