Donald Trump just took his authoritarianism to a new level.
Under his administration, ICE has repeatedly broken the law while
assaulting, arresting, and even deporting American citizens without the
due process protections guaranteed by the Constitution.
Over the weekend, ICE aggressively raided neighborhoods and workplaces
throughout Los Angeles County, prompting community protests. ICE even
arrested SEIU California President David Huerta.
Trump then added fuel to the fire by deploying the National Guard to Los
Angeles, even though California didn’t ask for this. It’s the first time
in 60 years a president has deployed the National Guard without the
consent of the state’s governor.
Tensions only escalated with additional force, and Trump has since
threatened to send Marines in, further politicizing the military on U.S.
soil. Not only that, but when asked this morning if his border czar Tom
Homan should arrest Governor Newsom, Trump said, “I would.”

power like this. Send a letter now to tell the U.S. Senate: we must end
the workplace ICE raids and their violent escalations in our communities!
