Trump’s National Guard in Los Angeles is a dangerous escalation. It underscores the need, and potential, to bring hundreds of thousands and even millions into the streets on June 14 to raise the demand: TRUMP MUST GO NOW! It is very positive that No Kings Day is planned nationwide – and that Refuse Fascism is hosting a permitted, nonviolent protest in Washington, DC on June 14 in the early afternoon to politically oppose Trump's military parade in the seat of political power representing the outrage and defiance of the millions of people across the country who oppose this regime.

David N. Smith: When 77 million people voted for [Donald Trump] in November of 2024, the large majority of them, had a good sense of who they were voting for. Our research shows that lots of people really, really want what he represents. If people can't believe that the culture war is real and that it's being fought very hard on one side of the spectrum, if they can't believe that it's real, can they commit to resisting? People will suffer. Will they fight back? That's the question that really interests.

Sam Goldman: It's about refusing to let fear stop us, because even in fear, we can choose bravery. We can choose courage. Now is not a time for compliance, but for bold, visible defiance, not a time to act for ourselves alone, but in the name of humanity. Immigrants are full human beings. We say no more dehumanization, no more deportations, no more terror. Not one more child ripped from their parents arms, not one more student coming home to an empty house, not one more family forced to live in constant fear. We must act and act together. We must rise up in our millions and demand Trump must go.
