TAKE ACTION: Call New York State Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins Today to Pass the Beauty Justice Act!

We have been making the rounds in Albany to get the New York State Beauty Justice Act ([link removed]) passed, but we could use your help!

We want to let Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins know how important this bill is to New Yorkers. With her leadership, we can get the bill on the calendar for a vote before the end of the legislative session (this Friday, June 13th).

Please take 2 minutes to call her office – 518- 455-2585 – and tell them something along the lines of the following (feel free to put it in your own words):

Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I live in [Your Neighborhood]. I’m calling to urge Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins to put the Beauty Justice Act (S.2057 ([link removed]) ) on the calendar for a vote before the legislative session ends on June 13th. People of color are disproportionately exposed to toxic chemicals, especially in the personal care products marketed to them. That is why we are hoping you can get this bill on the calendar for a vote, as it would ban some of the most toxic chemicals in these products. We need your leadership to help move this critical bill forward. Thank you for your time!
