John,
ICE raids are once again spreading fear and trauma in immigrant communities—and people across the country are rising up to protest the return of Trump’s xenophobic, illegal immigration policies.
Just this weekend, federal agents injured and arrested the president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) California, David Huerta, during peaceful protests in Los Angeles.1 This alarming escalation is part of a broader crackdown targeting immigrant communities, with ICE conducting workplace raids and street-level sweeps under the guise of “restoring order.” These tactics are cruel, unnecessary, and a direct attack on our values.
We’re joining a coalition of immigrant rights groups, labor leaders, faith-based organizations, and everyday people demanding an end to ICE raids.
Send a message to the U.S. Senate calling on them to immediately halt these raids and end the militarization of our immigration system now.

Trump has been directly pressuring federal law enforcement to “confront” pro-immigrant protests in California, singling out sanctuary cities for ICE raids and demanding visible, aggressive action. He’s doing this not for public safety, but to seize what he thinks will be his political advantage—and immigrant families are paying the price.
Donald Trump bypassed the authority of California Governor Gavin Newsom to federalize and call in the California National Guard—despite state and local officials in California expressly opposing additional help to deal with the protests. Trump’s move led to new protests around the city, as predicted. While this was going on, Trump took to social media to erroneously describe Los Angeles as being “invaded and occupied” and needing to be “liberated.” This xenophobic and inflammatory rhetoric only serves to rile up his MAGA base and will lead to the further dehumanization of immigrant communities.2
These raids do nothing to increase public safety—they tear apart families, disrupt workplaces, and violate fundamental human rights. Communities are living in fear, and advocates are being targeted simply for standing up.
We need to raise our voices now. Tell the Senate: No more raids. No more dangerous autocratic acts at the expense of immigrant communities.
Thank you for all you do,
