Hi folks, it’s Dave.

We’ve been in this race for less than a week, but wow, I’ve been humbled and inspired by the tremendous support we’ve received from folks across Colorado’s 8th Congressional District.

I didn’t make the decision to run for this seat lightly.

I don’t need to tell you that our district, our state, and our country are going through some incredibly challenging times. Right now, we need leaders to stand up for our values and fight back against those trying to take away our freedoms. My parents and their generation sacrificed greatly against tyranny during World War II. They would be deeply saddened to see what is happening in their own country.

Gabe Evans has only been in Congress for a handful of months, but he’s already shown that when put under pressure, he’d bend the knee to President Trump and do what Republican leadership tells him to do. The Republican-controlled Congress continues to abrogate its constitutional authority to hold this administration accountable.

As the representative of Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, I will work to ensure Congress uses its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to hold the executive branch accountable.

Whether as a middle school teacher, union leader, state representative, or our State Treasurer, I have never shied away from standing up for what is right and fighting for the people. That’s precisely why I’m running for this seat.

As one of the country’s most competitive House districts, we deserve a leader who will put the interests of CO-08 first and work across the aisle to pass thoughtful, common-sense legislation.

I’m excited for the road we have ahead. It will be long and a little bumpy along the way—but together, we can win this race and ensure CO-08 has leadership that puts people over billionaire profits.
