** Biden's autopen still haunts the halls of Washington.

Just the News ([link removed]) (6/6/25) reports: "It appears that the Biden-Harris administration hid comments that would have undermined its Clean Power Plan 2.0 rule (CPP2), which the Trump administration is currently reviewing. The EPA had sought comments from the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Lab (NETL) on the efficacy of carbon capture technology prior to proposing the rule. These comments, which were somehow scrubbed from the administrative record, disputed a key claim the rule is based on. Those missing comments, a legal expert says, could provide a basis for the rule’s repeal. [Chris] Horner said these comments missing from the administrative record provide a means by which the EPA could effectively nullify the rule. In 2021, the Supreme Court killed Obama’s 'Clean Power Plan' with its ruling in West Virginia v. EPA. The challenged rule set emission reduction
targets that could be met by either eliminating coal-fired power plants and replacing them with natural gas turbines, improving energy efficiency, or increasing the use of wind and solar power."

Even the left is waking up to Newsom's lies.

(6/9/25) opinion: "Democratic lawmakers in Sacramento experienced a political awakening of sorts after two major refineries recently announced they will shut down. A study last month by a University of Southern California business school professor projected that gasoline prices could rise to more than $8 a gallon because of the constricted supply. Now the lawmakers who backed the Newsom climate diktats that brought about the refinery shutdowns are up in arms. 'We have a crisis on our hands that may have been self-created by the actions perhaps taken by the state, by regulators,' Assemblyman David Alvarez huffed at a legislative hearing last month with the governor’s energy regulators. The goal of California’s climate regulations is to raise gasoline prices to goad people to buy electric cars. Democrats, however, don’t want to pay a political price for the costs and consequences of their policies. So they are lashing out at Mr. Newsom’s regulators."
Typical Biden, stretched the rules to limit freedoms.

(6/6/25) reports: "The Transportation Department paved the way for looser U.S fuel economy standards on Friday by declaring that former President Joe Biden's administration exceeded its authority by assuming high uptake of electric vehicles in calculating rules. The department made the declaration as it published a final 'Resetting the Corporate Average Fuel Economy Program' (CAFE) rule. A future separate rule from the administration of President Donald Trump will revise the fuel economy requirements. 'We are making vehicles more affordable and easier to manufacture in the United States. The previous administration illegally used CAFE standards as an electric vehicle mandate,' said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy in a statement. The department's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in writing its rule last year under Biden, had 'assumed significant numbers of EVs would continue to be produced regardless of the standards set by the agency, in turn increasing the level
of standards that could be considered maximum feasible,' it said Friday."
