Dear Friend,
Greetings from your local DSA
Ventura County Chapter.
In light of the recent events
concerning the murder of George Floyd, several of our members have
participated in demonstrations and actions across Ventura County.
Today, we are asking for you to consider donating to our chapter so we
can continue to organize and effect real and lasting change in our
communities.
In the past few months, our DSA
members:
- participated in several protests for justice of George Floyd’s
murder
- continued volunteering efforts for mutual aid and packed food
for distribution
- built
garden boxes for several families to promote sustainable food
practices
- revived
the Police Oversight Committee to organize actions for the defunding
and demilitarization of VC police departments
With your continued financial
support, we would be able to have the funds to push our legislators
and councilmembers to address our most pertinent social issues such as
universal healthcare, police brutality, climate change, and
more.
We would also be able to further
expand and implement our mutual aid efforts to support community
members and comrades in this time of need, such as:
- solidarity meal funds with locally-owned businesses to feed
those in need
- building
more garden boxes for community members
- supporting allies during protests and demonstrations by
providing food, water and medical supplies
Any donation amounts would be
greatly appreciated. You can also donate to other groups and
individuals here: https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/#donate
Thank you for
your continued support.
