Dear John,
The momentum just keeps building. Last week, the APPG for Fair Elections hit a brilliant line-up of events platforming our key asks: launching a National Commission on Electoral Reform (NCER), pushing to patch up our outdated campaign finance laws, and confronting how social media platforms profit from disinformation.
This comes hot on the heels of the APPG becoming the largest issue-focused group of its kind in Parliament, a testament to the appetite for change.
We’re also excited to announce that the APPG will be hosting an event at this summer’s Byline Festival. There, you’ll hear directly from MPs and campaigners working to build a democracy fit for our time — and learn how you can help repair our broken political system.
It’s clear: there is overwhelming demand for change in Britain today.
Real, systemic reform — not just tinkering at the edges, but at the very foundations of our democracy. People are fed up with tactical voting, dark money, dodgy data analytics, and fossil fuel lobbyists whispering in politicians’ ears. The consensus is undeniable: Britain wants a political system that finally gives ordinary people a voice.
