Hey John, it’s Lucas Kunce.
It’s been a while since you last heard from me, so I wanted to take some time today to catch up and check in about what’s on your mind right now.
Back in early January, I told you that I was called to return to active duty for a few months. That meant I had to step away from Heartland Patriots for a while. But now, I’m off duty for the summer and I’m ready to make the most of it.
Before I get to all the serious stuff, here’s my biggest personal update:
Marilyn and I welcomed our newest little addition to the Kunce family back in April. Everyone is healthy and doing well. Marilyn even graduated with her master’s degree a few weeks later! I’m always in awe of her strength, determination, and resilience.
It’s probably no surprise to you that most things that have happened in our country since January aren’t nearly as good or exciting.
Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, disrupted the lives of millions of Americans by slashing funds for critical services and unjustly firing tens of thousands of federal workers.
Control-obsessed politicians at both the state and federal levels have continued their attacks on reproductive freedom — all while actively stripping away resources from mothers, children, and their families.
And most recently, House Republicans proudly passed a tax bill that would line the pockets of billionaire elites at the expense of actual working people. They’re even threatening health coverage and food security for millions of Americans with deep cuts to Medicaid and SNAP.
And it’s all happening while acts of blatant corruption unfold in front of our very eyes.
Today, I’m not asking you for a donation but I am asking for your input.
