Last month we launched our new series of short films on big pharma. Two Worlds is a collection of seven personal stories that show how the industry has ripped people off, denied them access to lifesaving medicines, and largely ignored the diseases that mainly hit people in the global south.
To make these films, we worked with a team of award-winning filmmakers based in six different countries without crossing a single border ourselves. They feature the moving stories of health workers, patients and scientists struggling against pharma greed and pushing for a fairer system.
We’ve already organised an online viewing party for Global Justice Now supporters – now can you help us promote these films by sharing the film trailer?

In one of the films, George, a Liberian nurse and trade union leader slams the “barbaric” pharma system that for decades failed to deliver a vaccine or treatments for Ebola, leaving health workers and patients unprotected during the 2014-16 Ebola epidemic in West Africa.
In another, Sibongile describes how big pharma profiteering meant she couldn’t afford key HIV medication for years after she was diagnosed – and how she is now leading the movement for affordable drugs in South Africa.
We also hear from Bill, a doctor who worked on the front line during the Covid-19 pandemic - and who decided to give up his own vaccine and offer it to his mother as big pharma failed to provide more than a trickle of supplies to low- and middle-income countries.
There is also a sense of optimism in these films – shown most clearly through the Brazilian and South African scientists working to build a new model for making medicines, based on sharing knowledge and intellectual property, not monopolising science for extreme profit.
Can you help us promote these stories by sharing the trailer with your friends and followers?

It’s been an incredible experience to work with everyone involved in this project – I hope you find their stories as inspiring as I have.
Thank for your support,
