Dear Friend,

I am committed to working across the aisle to get things done for North Texans. In order to advocate for North Texan values in Congress, I need input from folks like you. A private company has proposed building a high-speed train from Dallas to Houston. Please take a moment to share your views with me regarding the rail project:

Do you support a high-speed rail project from Dallas to Houston?

I support the high-speed rail project and will fight for its development. Last year, I led a bipartisan effort with other Texas members of the House of Representatives to urge the U.S. Surface Transportation Board’s support for a high-speed rail project from Dallas to Houston. This groundbreaking project would modernize our transportation systems, saving North Texans time, energy and money. As we look to support projects that will grow our economy and create jobs, I will keep fighting for this high-speed rail line.

A trip between the two cities on the proposed high-speed rail will last less than 90 minutes. The project will connect the economies of Dallas and Houston by turning a day’s worth of travel into a short trip.

Texas prides itself on being a land of opportunity. By linking two major metropolitan hubs, the high-speed rail will create jobs and expand opportunities for North Texans. It will also expand the labor market by connecting workers to a wider network of employers.

As current transportation systems suffer from worsening levels of congestion, we must turn to innovative, yet tested ideas as a solution. The high-speed rail project would ease the burden on our existing transportation infrastructure, while also serving as a key driver of economic growth and job creation.

No matter the issue, I will always work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to get things done for North Texans. Please click the survey to share your thoughts.

 Sincerely,
