On Friday, military-gear-clad ICE agents launched aggressive raids throughout Los Angeles. At one location, SEIU United Service Workers West President David Huerta was assaulted, injured and detained while advocating for immigrant workers. He remains in federal custody.
In the days since, the Trump administration has only escalated its attacks on the Los Angeles community and has now deployed the military against civilians. This is a clear attack on our communities, workers, and our First Amendment rights.
Unions don’t just fight for wages — we fight for justice. When ICE arrested David Huerta, they attacked our movement.
Actions are taking place in more than two dozen cities across the country today in solidarity with Los Angeles communities and to demand David Huerta's release and an end to ICE raids.
