Yesterday marked the anniversary of the Antiquities Act of 1906, the law that made protecting places like Bears Ears possible. It’s a reminder of how important it is to care for the lands we hold sacred.
While the Antiquities Act safeguarded sacred lands for future generations, now it’s up to us to ensure our young people are empowered to carry this work forward. To do this, we are kicking off our “Planting the Seeds for Tomorrow” summer fundraising campaign!
Young people from Tribal communities are stepping up in incredible ways by learning, leading, and growing their roles in protecting Bears Ears. At a time when the future of the monument still faces uncertainty, their presence and voice matters more than ever.
