Prepare before you go
Help us prevent litter around Kitsap County by properly securing your load before heading to the Fairgrounds. Secure your vehicle load [ [link removed] ] for safer roads with cargo straps, tarps, and nets. It's the law, and the right thing to do!
Make sure to bring helpers to unload items from your vehicle. *Visitors must unload their own items* onto the ground without staff assistance.
What happens to collected tires?
We are partnering with the Washington State Department of Ecology, via their waste tire program [ [link removed] ], as well as Liberty Tire Recycling for this event. Liberty Tire Recycling [ [link removed] ] either resells or transforms the tires into reusable raw materials like crumb rubber and industrial feedstock. All aspects of the tire get recycled, including the fiber and steel wire!
How is this event funded?
Funding for this event is provided by Ecology’s waste tire program [ [link removed] ]. Funding became available in late April 2025 with the need to spend funds by June 30, 2025. Thank you to the Kitsap Fair and Stampede Association [ [link removed] ] for donating the venue.
