Charles Booker is the candidate Kentucky needs. Indivisibles,
It’s no secret: taking back the Senate is one of our biggest priorities. With Kentucky’s primary coming up on Tuesday, June 23rd, we wanted to make sure to endorse a candidate who represents bold, progressive ideas to take on Mitch McConnell. That’s why we’re so excited to announce our endorsement of Charles Booker in the Kentucky Democratic Senate primary. Charles stands for everything Mitch McConnell opposes: from fighting for a living wage and universal health care, to taking bold action to address racial injustice, to creating a democracy that works for everyone, he is ready to fight for all Kentuckians and take a stand for the justice and humanity of everyone in Kentucky.
As you can tell, we’ve got nothing but good things to say about Charles -- check out our endorsement webpage here -- but nothing we have to say could be as convincing as letting you hear from the candidate himself:
His message and his vision of a better Commonwealth for all Kentuckians is resonating with voters across the Bluegrass State. Charles’s deep commitment to local organizing in Kentucky is paying off, as his campaign gains momentum in the race’s final week. In the last week, Booker has earned endorsements from Kentucky’s two largest newspapers, The Lexington Herald-Leader and The Courier-Journal. And recent polling shows him within reach of winning the Democratic nomination.
At the end of the day, this is about getting Mitch McConnell out of office, no matter who wins the nomination next week. We believe Charles Booker is the right candidate for this moment, and the right candidate to take on Mitch McConnell in November. If you’re with us, the Kentucky primary is less than a week away, so here’s what you can do this week to help secure Booker’s nomination:
Indivisibles can help change the power landscape, and endorsing progressive candidates like Charles Booker is just the first step. Today’s endorsement of Charles Booker is a key step in those plans – and we’re so glad to be in this fight with all of you.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
PS: If your group has endorsed a candidate locally and would like to nominate that candidate for a national endorsement, we’ll have two more waves of endorsements announced in September and October. We’ll accept nominations on a rolling basis throughout the election cycle. If you’d like to submit for the next round, Indivisible groups have until 11:59pm PT on Thursday, August 13, to submit candidates for the sixth round of voting. You can also read more about our endorsement process here.
