This week, I questioned Acting FAA Administrator Chris Rocheleau during a House Appropriations Subcommittee hearing.
I raised concerns regarding how the FAA tracks the number of drones in U.S. airspace at any given time and what steps are being taken to address potential threats.
Acting Administrator Rocheleau stated that when it comes to drone detection, the FAA is in close coordination with the Department of Homeland Security.
However, he admitted there is currently no way to know exactly how many unmanned aircraft are in U.S. airspace on a daily basis.
