I have exciting news to share with you today:

DFA is excited to endorse progressive champion Charles Booker for U.S.
Senate in Kentucky.

Charles is currently the youngest Black legislator in the state of
Kentucky and supports the issues at the center of our movement, including
Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, getting big money out of politics,
criminal justice reform, and relieving student debt.

In the weeks after the police killings of Breonna Taylor and David McAtee,
Charles was in the streets of Louisville speaking out at protests and
standing with Black Lives Matter activists marching for justice.

Booker's opponent, Amy McGrath, the self proclaimed "Trump Democrat" who
launched her campaign by saying she would have voted to confirm Brett
Kavanaugh, was no where to be found.

Kentucky deserves a real leader like Charles Booker. Someone who is
unafraid to stand up for their values and fight for what they believe in.

Let me be clear: the corporate establishment has lined up behind Amy
McGrath in the Democratic primary -- But Charles is seeing an incredible
surge of momentum in the final days before next week’s primary, and new
polling shows the race is within the margin of error.

We stand a better chance of beating Mitch McConnell with a Democrat
unafraid to fight for what he believes in than with a Democrat who can't
wait to find ways to praise Trump.

But McGrath has over $19 million cash on hand, and has shown she’s willing
to spend whatever it takes to win. That means Charles needs a surge of
resources to match his surging campaign and cut through the avalanche of
ads with the people power he needs to win the right to take on Mitch
McConnell in November.
