“Prison Fellowship [Academy] gave me an opportunity to not only gain tools but to apply them in that same environment.”
—Dion
Young Dion wanted to follow Jesus. He regularly attended Heritage Baptist Church with his friends and later earned a scholarship to a Christian high school.
Although his single mother did her best to raise him, Dion experienced challenges that led to unhealthy decisions.
After graduation, he was set to join the Marines, but he got into a fight during which he obtained a traumatic head injury. He started experiencing personality changes and began stealing, selling drugs, and breaking into houses. He was arrested at 19 years old.
During the time he was incarcerated, he still looked for ways to continue learning and growing and soon realized that Prison Fellowship® Academywas the program he was looking for.
Men and women in prison are looking for hope. And nothing provides hope like the living Word of God. The demand for Bibles and Christian content is at an all-time high. Will you help us meet the need? Please give generously today.
Real change isn’t easy. It starts with having accountability, facing the past, and choosing a different future. But true transformation happens when people encounter Jesus in the midst of it all. Hear a prisoner share a message of redemption through his poem.
