John,
This week, the Dutch coalition government fell over the issue of immigration, triggering new elections in the fall.
The largest party in the Dutch parliament, the Freedom Party led by Geert Wilders, decided to leave the 4-party coalition because its partners refuse to take the necessary measures to stop the constant flow of asylum seekers in the country.
Hopefully, the party will come back even stronger after the elections and will be able to impose its vision of stricter immigration policies to whatever government is formed then.
This is becoming a trend all over Europe.
Support for right-wing populist parties has risen so much that they are upending the cozy old consensus of the pro-mass immigration parties of both the left and the right.
Out-of-touch politicians in Western countries have ignored this issue for too long, and now they have to deal with political crises everywhere.
...except in Canada of course.
Here, the Liberals have only taken a few inadequate measures to reverse a destructive trend that they encouraged for a decade.
Poilievre’s Conservatives, who supported mass immigration until a few months ago, have only just started to ask timid questions in Parliament about the Liberal’s horrendous mismanagement of the immigration file.
But that’s a decade too late!!
I started denouncing Trudeau’s excessive immigration targets while running in the CPC leadership race in 2016.
Opposing mass immigration then became a key policy issue for the PPC after it was launched in 2018.
Now, imagine if there had been PPC members of Parliament elected in 2019...
Imagine if instead of having only pro-mass immigration parties since then, there had been a voice of reason in Parliament that nobody could have ignored...
Imagine if we had had the balance of power and been able to force a change of policy...
John, that’s why Canada needs the PPC’s voice now more than ever.
We can’t just let the establishment parties continue to destroy Canada.
If you agree, please consider a $10 donation to help us join the populist movements that are rising everywhere in other Western countries.
I hope you are enjoying the summer!
