![]() Patriot, “Ron Paul was right.” How many times have we heard that after his words were initially mocked. But once again, we find the words of Ron Paul are right: “Decade after decade, the Republicans disappoint us. They can control all levers of government and they still disappoint.
“The election last November was supposed to put an end to that. “Republicans (with massive public support at their backs) were finally going to lessen the major burdens that Americans are forced to shoulder. . . spending, deficits, and debt. “But then came the “Big Beautiful Bill,” and once again, Republicans disappoint. “All three of these burdens will continue to rise. “Elon Musk, who was very instrumental in the election, finally had enough. He joined Thomas Massie and Rand Paul in saying we need a SLIM Beautiful Bill.” Ron Paul made this statement in a post on X this past Friday, in response to the ferocious fight that broke out between President Donald Trump and his former top backer, Elon Musk, on Thursday. But this isn't about Elon Musk or President Trump or their Twitter battle. It's about the spending bill. It doesn't matter who “crossed the line” in provoking their personal squabble over social media. That’s all a distraction to what matters. What matters is whether Republicans will break their promise to rein in the spending.
Rep. Thomas Massie, Sen. Rand Paul, and Elon Musk are right: The Big Bill is not beautiful. This isn’t a matter of whether you support Donald Trump or not. It’s a matter of fulfilling promises to stop adding onto our national debt and spending, spending, spending. While the bill passed the House by just one vote, 215-214, it still has a long way to go, and that's why, RIGHT NOW, we must demand our U.S. Senators put the Big, Bad pile of pork in the trash and start over ... skinny! Tell your U.S. Senators: REJECT the massive spending bill, and instead pass a LEAN, Beautiful Bill that does what we actually want . . . and what we were promised! *** Extend the 2017 Trump tax cuts. This should be passed on a clean up-or-down vote. House Speaker Mike Johnson threw it into the Big Pile to politically blackmail his own caucus: “Vote for the spending, or else taxes will go up!” The American people should be offended their tax cut is being used to demand spending increases.
*** End the Green New Deal scam. Another provision Republicans should be able to easily pass, all by itself, on a clean vote. *** No grift for the Military Industrial Complex. The so-called “Golden Dome,” for example, is just another trillion-dollar boondoggle. The Big Pile offsets all spending cuts with spending increases in the military, resulting in NO real financial reform. *** No SALT, No Pork! The Big Pile would have expanded a “state and local tax deduction” that essentially bails out the high-tax states with federal money. A clean spending bill is what Republicans were elected to pass – not record levels of pork and bailouts for states with their own financial problems. Patriot, ONE TRILLION DOLLARS is now added to the debt every 100 days! And too many in Washington, D.C. don’t seem to care. You and I have come to expect that attitude from the likes of AOC, Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and countless other tax-and-spend Democrats. But many Republicans who ran on cutting the government are shrinking into the shadows of the Swamp and not fighting back. All of the reckless spending during the Covid panic that was supposed to be “temporary” set a new baseline for burning through more and more money. And all of the spending is sacrificing America’s future prosperity so the politicians in Washington, D.C. can enrich lobbyists, Big Pharma, Big Banks, Big Tech, and the Industrial War Machines, who in turn fund the politicians’ campaigns. It is truly a disgrace. The price of everything from consumer goods to housing prices to insurance remains much higher than before the pandemic. Household savings have plummeted as many Americans must dig into their savings and go into debt to cover basic living expenses. And yet Congress always finds a way – unapologetically – to spend more and more regardless of which party is in control.
The federal government is running out of time to cut spending before they trigger a financial meltdown. That’s why we must continue to demand our legislators CUT SPENDING NOW! As C4L Chairman Ron Paul showed when he released his economic plan in his 2012 presidential campaign – even cutting just 1% of the federal budget would cause it to balance over time. That’s how little they need to cut, and yet they still can’t bring themselves to do it. Instead, the budget just gets bigger and bigger. It’s up to you and me to demand they CUT SPENDING NOW. . . Because if House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) caves to his left flank, we're not going to get spending cuts . . . maybe ever. Our patience is at an end. Take a moment to tell them right now: CUT SPENDING NOW! You and I MUST continue to keep up the pressure on our lawmakers. Sign your postcard to your U.S. Senators now. And if you can, please chip in a generous contribution to help us spread the message of liberty. Can we count on your support of $100, or even $50 or $25? Ron Paul is right once again.
