Scouts to Have Faith Week
The Boy Scouts of America have a national virtual faith week which starts on June 29. There are more than 60 zoom sessions and the registration is free. You do not need to be a scout to register. All of these topics are related to the 12th point Law which is: A Scout is Reverent. The session for United Methodists is on July 3 at 5 p.m. and is led by Steven Scheid from Nashville. The title is Scouting in the UMC: Change Happens. Steven is the Director for Scouting Ministries. There are several sessions on the religious emblems a scout can earn to strengthen their Methodist faith. There is even a session (June 30 at 4:00 EST) to assist Scout councils in setting up a mapping program to help scouts find the nearest faith location to earn their religious emblem. This program is currently being used in the Greater St Louis Scout Council. To register for faith week go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2020-virtual-interfaith-week-tickets-107549782294.
