Dear Friend,
Good morning, and welcome to our Weekend Update.
Before we begin with our recap, I want to condemn in the strongest possible terms the unlawful attacks on our brave ICE agents yesterday in Los Angeles. There is no place in society for those attacks, and thankfully, President Donald Trump and the administration have taken decisive action to end these attacks against our federal law enforcement officers.
Additionally, I want to comment on the ongoing string of violent, antisemitic attacks. They must be fully condemned. The targeting and killing of innocent people must be denounced by everyone: Republicans, Democrats, and all those in positions of leadership. This cannot be tolerated, ignored, or encouraged. Silence is complicity. These crimes on American soil must be punished severely and to the fullest extent of the law. No leniency. No excuses.
On Tuesday, I conducted an interview on “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business to discuss the White House’s $9.4B rescissions package—likely the first of many. These packages will be a key step toward codifying President Donald J. Trump’s agenda and delivering lasting government spending reductions. With nearly $7 trillion in annual federal spending, we need to prioritize the "must-haves" over the "nice-to-haves" to address our enormous national debt.
President Trump’s plan will reduce spending, grow the economy, and increase revenues, lowering deficits and improving our credit rating. It’s the fiscally responsible path forward and will benefit all Americans. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch.

I joined the “American Agenda” on Newsmax on Wednesday to discuss domestic steel production. American steel production has declined by more than 25% over the past 25 years, and nearly a quarter of the steel we use is imported. That’s unsustainable.
President Trump is reversing that trend—protecting American jobs, strengthening critical industries, and encouraging investment, like the recent U.S. Steel deal in Pennsylvania.
We need fair trade and serious partners at the table. This is about restoring long-term strength to U.S. manufacturing. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: INVESTIGATING EXECUTIVE ACTIONS UNDER BIDEN’S PRESIDENCY: President Trump signed a Presidential Memorandum directing an investigation into who ran the United States while President Biden was in office.
- The Memorandum directs an investigation into whether certain individuals conspired to deceive the public about Biden’s mental state and unconstitutionally exercise the authorities and responsibilities of the President.
- The Memorandum also mandates an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Biden’s purported execution of the numerous executive actions during his final years in office, examining policy documents signed with an autopen, who authorized its use, and the validity of the resulting Presidential policy decisions.
QUESTIONING WHO WIELDED THE EXECUTIVE POWER DURING THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION: The combined nature of Biden’s documented cognitive decline and the repeated use of an autopen raises serious concerns about the legitimacy of his actions.
- Reports indicate that, for years, Biden suffered from serious cognitive decline.
- For example, although the Department of Justice found that Biden had violated the law by willfully retaining and disclosing classified materials, it ultimately concluded that Biden was unfit to stand trial given his incompetent mental state.
- Biden’s cognitive issues and apparent mental decline were reportedly even “worse” in private, with those closest to him attempting to conceal it from the public.
- Biden’s advisors severely restricted his news conferences and media appearances, scripting his conversations with lawmakers, government officials, and donors.
- Despite Biden’s cognitive deficiencies, the White House issued over 1,200 Presidential documents, appointed 235 judges to the Federal bench, and issued more pardons and commutations than any Administration in U.S. history.
- Just two days before Christmas in 2024, Biden commuted the sentences of 37 of the 40 most vile and monstrous criminals on Federal death row, including several child killers and mass murderers.
- The authority to take these executive actions is constitutionally reserved for the President. Yet, the Biden White House used an autopen to execute the vast majority of Biden’s executive actions, particularly during the second half of his Presidency.
RESTORING PRESIDENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITY: President Trump believes Americans deserve answers as to whether President Biden signed these documents, and if not, who signed them, and under what circumstances.
- President Trump: “And you know what, they ought to find out who was using that autopen. Because whoever that person was, he or she was like the President of the United States … I think a President should sign it, not use an autopen. And we’re going to find out whether or not he knew what the hell he was doing. … So I think it’s something that we should really look at because that’s so important.”
- President Trump: “The real question – who ran the autopen, OK? Who ran the autopen? Because the things that were signed were signed illegally, in my opinion.”
- Since returning to office, President Trump has held numerous open-press signing events where the American public can witness President Trump’s signature and knowledge regarding the matters in question with their own eyes.
- Even the legacy media admits that President Trump is on track to becoming the most-accessible President in modern history.
On Tuesday, I had a great conversation with Arthur Stuart, President of Cameron Energy Company and Mike Ward about how we can reduce regulation to unleash energy dominance in the Commonwealth—a critical issue for Pennsylvania.
Later, I spoke on the House floor to support my bipartisan bill, H.R. 1804—the 7(a) Loan Agent Oversight Act. This legislation gives the U.S. Small Business Administration oversight tools to crack down on loan agent fraud, protect taxpayer dollars, and ensure the 7(a) Program continues to help small businesses thrive. The House passed my bill. I look forward to working with Administrator Loeffler to restore sound underwriting standards and ensure the 7(a) program remains a trusted public-private partnership that helps small businesses grow. Click here <[link removed]> to read more about my bill.
On Tuesday evening, I attended a Department of Veterans Affairs reception hosted by Secretary Doug Collins to discuss the VA’s work serving our nation’s heroes.
From making the agency more efficient to expanding caregiver support and improving mental health access, the VA is making key strides. I’ll continue working to ensure PA-09 veterans—nearly 45,000 strong—receive the care and benefits they’ve earned.
On Wednesday, at a House Committee on Financial Services hearing, I criticized the Biden SEC’s lawsuit-first crypto approach and voiced support for the Clarity Act—legislation that sets clear rules, empowers innovation, and ensures strong protections. As President Trump said, America must lead the world in crypto. This bill doesn’t just help us get there; it ensures we lead. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch.
Later, at a House Committee on Small Business hearing, I highlighted the SBA’s many successes already achieved under Administrator Loeffler—from launching the Red Tape Hotline to restoring prudent underwriting in the 7(a) loan program. We also discussed the SBA’s new “Make Onshoring Great Again” portal, which helps small businesses find U.S.-based suppliers and reduce reliance on China—a strong step toward rebuilding American manufacturing. We need to get the BBB across the finish line to keep that momentum going. It delivers real tax relief for Main Street—like the 199A deduction, bonus depreciation, and the R&D credit—that small businesses depend on to grow, invest, and hire. I want to congratulate Michelle Bowman on her confirmation as Vice Chair for Supervision of the Federal Reserve. This is a major step forward for a resilient and competitive U.S. banking system. With complex issues like Basel III front and center, Miki Bowman brings the right blend of experience as a community banker, state regulator, and Fed Governor to deliver balanced, pro-growth supervision. This Fed has the opportunity to strengthen—not stifle—our financial institutions and help ensure America’s banking system remains the envy of the world. Through smart, capital-neutral policymaking, we can expand access to capital for small businesses and preserve the role of community banks that power local economies nationwide. I’m confident Vice Chair Bowman will advance President Trump’s economic agenda and keep U.S. banking strong, competitive, and open for growth.
On Friday, 81 years ago, the greatest heroes the world has ever known stormed the beaches of Normandy—changing the course of history, and with our allies, laying the foundation for victory in WWII.
We solemnly remember their bravery and sacrifice.
Lastly, we are excited to share that my family celebrated a wedding this weekend. My daughter, Dr. Caroline Meuser, married Mr. Dylan Weidenmuller, a firefighter. Shelley and I are incredibly proud. What a wonderful celebration.
