One of the reasons my wife and I chose to raise our kids in Loudoun County is because we love the beauty, charm, and deep roots of our agritourism industry. Whether it’s local farms, vineyards, or markets, they represent the best of Virginia’s culture and economy.
But too often, the farmers and small business owners who keep those traditions alive are left on their own to navigate a maze of federal red tape.
That’s why I’ve introduced a new bipartisan bill to create a dedicated Office of Agritourism within the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
This office would serve as a one-stop shop to help rural entrepreneurs find and apply for the grants, loan programs, and technical support they need, without having to dig through dozens of websites.
I heard firsthand from farmers in our community that they needed this help. And I’m proud to carry on the work Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton started – and to be doing it with support from across the aisle, including Congressman David Rouzer.
This bill isn’t just about rural innovation. It’s about supporting the small businesses and local economies that make Virginia so special – and making sure federal resources are accessible to everyone.
