Mindfulness moment and community check-in

Dear John,

Audre Lord reminds us that "Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare." The way we take care of ourselves—or not—affects so many things that matter such as our quality of life and our ability to connect with/show up for one another and our communities.

As we reckon with the renewed uprising for social justice amidst a global pandemic, it is especially critical that we prioritize our mental health and well-being as foundational, rather than an afterthought. The longer term sustainability of our work depends on us making this shift.

On Tuesday, June 23, join MoveOn’s Reggie Hubbard and Netroots Nation for a mindfulness moment and community check-in. Reggie will guide us through some exercises and movements, then you’ll have a chance to connect one-on-one with others in a fun Icebreaker exercise.

Click here to RSVP. We'll send out a link to join a few hours before the event.

How will you center wellness in your routine as we head into the election? What habit are you going to adopt and/or change to enhance your wellness and take better care of yourself?

This is a great opportunity for you to focus on your own health and wellness, as you make some meaningful connections with others in the movement.

This session will be accessible for all abilities. Modifications will be offered for those who aren't able to do floor work or hold certain poses.
