Welcome to our Team Tillis newsletter, where we discuss what Thom has been up to from the campaign trail to Capitol Hill, and everything in between! |

Friend, All eyes are on Thom and his fellow Senate Republicans as they fight to cut taxes for families, boost small businesses, and deliver historic reforms that grow the economy. The good news? North Carolina is already seeing the results of President Trump’s America-first policies. Just this week, Amazon announced it will invest $10 billion in North Carolina data centers—bringing more good-paying jobs back to the U.S. to strengthen our economy and boost the growing science and technology sector. News like this underscores the fact that putting our country first is getting us back on track, and Thom is working every day to ensure the wins keep coming. -Team Tillis |

Fighting For North Carolina: Thom Helps Secure Helene Recovery Funding and Introduces Legislation to Prepare for the Future |
This week, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced an allocation of $1.45 billion in federal funding for disaster-impacted communities, including Western North Carolina. The announcement follows a bipartisan letter Thom authored with members of North Carolina’s congressional delegation to the Trump Administration, urging the EDA to issue a Notice of Funding Opportunity as quickly as possible. And with another hurricane season underway, Thom also introduced legislation to replenish the Disaster Relief Fund (DRF) to ensure FEMA has the financial resources it needs to respond to natural disasters in the months ahead. The legislation would provide $25 billion, which would fulfill President Trump’s historic funding request for Congress. “With Western North Carolina still recovering from Helene and an above-normal hurricane season expected this year, we have to ensure that FEMA has the constant flow of resources it needs to help states respond to natural disasters,” Thom said. “Congress shouldn’t wait until the last minute, and I’m proud to lead the effort to replenish the DRF and ensure that President Trump’s request is fulfilled…” |
In The News: WSJ Highlights Thom’s Bill to End Predatory Litigation Funding Practices |
The Wall Street Journal published an editorial supporting the Tackling Predatory Litigation Funding Act, Thom’s legislation that would impose a new tax on profits earned by third-party entities that finance civil litigation and curb predatory practices in the litigation funding industry. As the editorial states, the provision would require U.S. and foreign litigation funders to “pay tax on their earnings at the ordinary income rate (typically 37%), plus a 3.8% surcharge.” This bill could help cut down on unnecessary lawsuits, which the U.S. Chamber of Commerce says cost the average American household about $4,200 in 2022. → Read more: Ending a Tax Break for Lawsuits (WSJ) |
Legislative Highlight: Thom Fights for Shelter Pets with Bipartisan BARK Bill |
Thom is standing up for animals with the reintroduction of the Bring Animals Relief and Kibble Act, a bipartisan bill he’s sponsoring with Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA). Here’s what Thom had to say about the legislation: “Every year, pet stores throw out surplus pet food, which could easily be donated to feed hungry pets in animal shelters. This commonsense legislation removes unnecessary bureaucratic restrictions that keep many pet stores from donating food to animal shelters. No shelter pet should have to go hungry when so many pet stores have a surplus of readily available food.” This bill is endorsed by the Humane World Action Fund, Best Friends Animal Society, Pet Food Institute, and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). → Learn more: BARK Act aims to boost pet food donations to U.S. animal shelters (Pet Foot Industry)

Make it Monthly: Recurring Donations Fuel our Campaign
|
Thom’s 2026 campaign is the #1 Senate race in the country. Democrats will throw everything they have at us to try to flip this seat and regain control from Republicans in the Senate. We can’t let that happen. But we need all the help we can get if we want to stand a chance against the Democrat-funded machine. Recurring donors fuel our campaign and allow us to have a steady stream of resources to fight against attacks from the Left. Will you become a recurring donor today to fuel Team Tillis and hold onto a Republican majority in 2026?
