Read the op-ed on voting rights by Tom and Reverend Barber

*“Amid a global pandemic that is both remaking our society and exposing this inequality, November is a historic opportunity to right these wrongs. But it may not happen if we deny the right to vote for millions of Americans.”* ( [link removed] )

Friend,

We fight injustice by taking to the streets. We fight injustice by having hard conversations. We fight injustice by mobilizing online to share information and outrage. *We fight injustice by voting.*

*Tom co-authored a column with Bishop Doctor William J. Barber II to discuss the state of voter suppression in the United States* ( [link removed] ) and how it’s used as a tool of white supremacy to strangle the voices of communities of color. Bishop Barber is a minister, a political activist and organizer, a member of the NAACP national board, and co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign ( [link removed] ). He and Tom agree that for our country to move forward, we must root out systemic injustice now — and in order to do that, we must protect and use our right to vote.
