John,
I recently had the honor of participating in an event for Convoy of Hope, a
remarkable organization I highlight in my new book,Heaven Help Us. Convoy of
Hope is one of the most inspiring humanitarian efforts I’ve ever encountered.

After a terrible family tragedy, Hal Donaldson and others founded Convoy of
Hope <[link removed]> in 1994. Since then, they have served more
than 250 million people in more than 130 countries. Every day, they feed over
571,000 children, train thousands of mothers to launch businesses, and equip
tens of thousands of farmers to build sustainable futures. They have delivered
more than $2.5 billion in food and supplies and have been a lifeline in the
aftermath of over 750 disasters, both natural and man-made.
But it is not just the numbers that impress me. What moves me most is what Hal
calls “people-building.”Convoy of Hope is not just about relief. It is about
restoration. It is about helping people get back on their feet with dignity,
opportunity, and hope.
That is what real service looks like. That is what faith in action looks
like. And that is why Convoy of Hope is a model worth lifting up for all of us.
