John, this is a HUGE win for Arizona’s working families!
Last Saturday, Arizonans from all walks of life came together to share their stories on how the cost of living and budget cuts are impacting their lives. Congresswoman Ansari, State Senator Ortiz, and WESD Governing Board President Clayton listened to their moving stories and spoke to the actions they are taking to improve the lives of Arizonans at the local and national level.

Here is what 67 year old Chuck had to say at the town hall: “I have been living with HIV for over two decades – and yet I am healthy. Healthy because of treatments and medications developed through the NIH. Healthy because I had access to these meds and care because of private insurance, Medicaid for 4 years when I was unable to work, and now through Medicare, the Ryan White AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and my Plan D coverage.”
30 year old Arizona native, Kim, who grew up in the foster care system also said, “I’m not asking for a handout — I’m asking for a livable Arizona. We need affordable housing. We need accountability. And we need leaders who put people before profit — because right now, we’re drowning.”
Your stories are powerful and our town hall this past weekend was a perfect reminder of our collective strength. Support our work by chipping in today so that we can continue to amplify the voices of hardworking Arizonans. [link removed]
