John, over the weekend, I attended the California Democratic Party Convention. My first as a U.S. Senator:
Here’s what I shared at the convention:
Americans know it is not Republicans in Congress who will save us.
It is you, my fellow Democrats.
It is ordinary Americans, one by one.
It is the student at Fresno City College who will not stand by as their fellow classmates are divided from their families and deported.
It is the Justice Department lawyer who quits rather than opens an investigation without evidence.
It is the federal employee who will not be bullied out of their job.
The labor union that stands up to the powerful corporation and fights for better wages.
It is us, all of us.
We are the party of FDR and JFK, of Pat Brown and the incomparable Nancy Pelosi.
We do not capitulate. We do not concede.
California does not cower — not now, not ever.
We say to bullies, “You can go F yourself.”
John, together, we are going to stop this President's dangerous agenda.
We're going to fight like hell to win the midterms.
And in 2028, banish Trumpism to the dustbin of history.
