Well, we officially missed our fundraising goal last night and now, we are not on track for the most important FEC deadline of the campaign so far.

There’s a silver lining: We didn’t fall short by a lot, but it’s still enough to make a big difference in our re-election battle. And I’ll tell you why that matters.

Minnesota is a must-win state with a must-win Senate seat for Democrats to take back the majority in Washington. But we're a top target for Donald Trump, who is resuming campaign rallies this week and could be returning to our state any day now.

How do I know this? The polling data from Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight show Trump within a single digit of winning our state.

With the FEC deadline right around the corner, any slip up now could hobble our campaign and give Trump the advantage he so desperately wants, so I’m personally asking you:

Can I count on you to rush a donation of $10 or more to help us catch up on yesterday's missed goal? Every single donation makes a huge difference in our work to keep Minnesota from flipping red.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

The ground is always shifting beneath our feet as we fight to take back the Senate majority and win our race. A missed goal like this could be enough to give Trump and the GOP the boost they need.

Your contribution today will help us make up for this temporary lapse and put our campaign in a strong position as we head into the next phase of this election.

Thanks for reading.
