Having a child shouldn’t come with a steep medical bill.
For many Americans, raising a family is rewarding — but even with insurance, it’s becoming less and less affordable.
That’s why I’ve made it my mission to pass a bipartisan bill — the Supporting Healthy Moms and Babies Act — that requires insurers to cover all childbirth-related care.
This is long overdue, so I need as much support as possible: Will you sign your name next to mine if you agree that childbirth should be affordable for everyone?
My bipartisan bill requires private insurers to cover all childbirth-related care — from ultrasounds to delivery to postpartum mental health support — with no co-pays or deductibles.
Simply put: It would be groundbreaking.
Raising a family is already tough, even under the best of circumstances. It shouldn’t be made impossible because of high childcare costs.
This common-sense approach is how we’ve built a coalition across the aisle.
At a time when Democrats and Republicans are far apart on so many issues, this is an issue we can come together on.
