Dear John,
For far too long, Members of Congress have used the United States Capitol as a revolving door for their own self-interests. And since my first term in Congress, it’s been one of my top priorities to reform Washington. It’s an issue that I care deeply about. Because the American people have lost faith that we are here to serve only them. And we could change that.
That’s why this week, alongside a few of my reform-minded House colleagues, I introduced the End Corruption Now legislative agenda – a set of six bills that prevent the President, Executive Branch officials and Members of Congress from using their positions of power for personal gain.
My Restoring Integrity in Democracy resolution is part of this package. This resolution would ban Members of the House from serving on for-profit corporate boards while they are in office. I know, it’s unbelievable that it’s allowed.
I also reintroduced my NO STOCK resolution this week – which would require Members of the House to immediately sell their individual stocks and prevent them from investing in companies while in office.
Every day in this role reminds me that Members of Congress have access to information before you do. And even the appearance of impropriety by a member diminishes the public’s confidence in us.
You can watch my remarks from this week’s End Corruption Now press conference here.
Here’s what else I’ve been up to this week:
Fighting for our federal workers
This week I met with AFGE about how we can support our federal workers, protect the right to organize and ensure fair wages for Minnesota workers.
While this Administration has shown from day one that they have no regard for our federal workers, I’ve been with AFGE every step of the way.

Keeping MN travelers safe from carbon monoxide
We know how to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning and save lives in Minnesota – so let’s do that for the entire country. I first introduced this legislation after hearing stories like Leslie and her son. Let's get this done before another American family has to suffer from the impacts of carbon monoxide poisoning. You can watch my conversation with Leslie about why this bill matters here.
You can read more about my Safe Stay Act here.
Busting monopolies and standing up for small businesses
Capitalism only works when there’s competition - and it’s past time to take corporate monopolies head on.
I’m proud to be a founding member of the Monopoly Busters Caucus. It was great to join this week’s roundtable with Jonathan Kanter.

Fighting against the opioid crisis
Too many lives have been lost to a drug overdose – and too many Minnesota families know the pain of losing a loved one.
I’m proud that my bill to expand life-saving overdose prevention resources passed the House this week. We must treat the opioid epidemic like the public health crisis it is and get this bill signed into law.

Behind the scenes:
This week, I also met with the National Association of Realtors. I had the chance to catch up with my friend Laura Lee and exchange photos of our grandkids before the meeting.
While I love my work representing you here in Congress, my favorite job is being Mimi to my three grandsons. I’m so proud of them, and it was great to share a few fun stories and photos with Laura before talking housing.
Until next time,
Angie Craig
Member of Congress
