Right now, elections might be the furthest thing from your
mind.
Even so, I just want to take a moment to remind you that in
many places across the nation local elections are taking place this
year.
On “off years,” election dates and types can vary greatly
between states and even counties. We as Christians must stay vigilant, as the
level of government with the most immediate impact—whether for good or bad—is
oftentimes the one closest to home.
Many local elections often go unnoticed until we see the
results on the news, leaving many to wonder how they could have missed such an
important opportunity.
To underscore this point, we invite you to watch a brief
video from Christians Engaged entitled “Why Are Local Elections Important?". This video highlights the
significant impact local elections have on our communities and the importance
of Christian engagement in these civic duties.
