Outdoor Activities in Nottingham

The lockdown restrictions have meant that many of us have not been able to take part in our usual sports and outdoor activities. As the Government has announced its phased step down of restrictions weve been working really hard to open up Nottinghams numerous outdoor activities in a safe way to protect both employees and our customers. Council run outdoor activities that are now open are


* Nottingham Tennis Centre [ [link removed] ] and Vernon Park and Valley Road [ [link removed] ] tennis courts
* Turn up and play tennis courts at Clifton Playing Fields and Lenton Abbey Park
* The fishing lake [ [link removed] ] at Colwick Country Park
* Open water swimming [ [link removed] ] at Colwick Country Park Bulwell Hall Golf Club [ [link removed] ]
* Highfields Boating Lake [ [link removed] ] and Stand-up Paddleboarding [ [link removed] ] plus the neighbouring Adventure Golf course is also open

Many of these facilities now require advanced booking online, please check website details for booking information and guidance on social distancing measures to be taken. We are looking forward to being able to open our other sport and activity centres but while we wait further guidance from Government if your usual activity has not yet re-opened perhaps this is the time to try something new!

The coronavirus has been an exceptionally challenging time for small businesses especially those that rely on face-to-face customer interaction. Many businesses had to close their doors to the public, as limiting social contact became a key part of the national plan to tackle the spread of the virus. To survive the lockdown period many businesses including Woodthorpe Plant Shop have needed to do things differently.

After closing its doors to the public the plant shop went online for the first time. Since early April the shop has sold over 75K worth of plants and other garden goods and made over 2,200 deliveries free of charge. Being confined to our homes has given many us the opportunity to be in our gardens more and I was really impressed with the wide range and quality of plants that were on offer over this period.

The plant shop has now reopened to customers with social distancing measures in place and the online business will be continuing with free deliveries too.
