** Hello, friends.
------------------------------------------------------------
All around the country, from San Diego to Grand Rapids, conflicts have been playing out as ICE agents kidnap community members—including small children—and people respond with anger. Now these confrontations are beginning to expand. This week in Minneapolis, dozens of people responded to reports of a multiagency raid in an immigrant neighborhood. There, a growing crowd confronted the many federal and local police agencies present. The community's rapid response ultimately succeeded and forced the agents to retreat, blocking their apparent kidnapping operation (despite the disavowals of the police and mayor).”. Several participants from Minneapolis gave us their perspectives ([link removed]) on how this played out.
"The most powerful weapon the authorities wield against us is fear, intensified by the fog of war and the confusion of having to process so much unverified information at once. Whatever happens, we should remain calm, analyze what is happening, verify information that is circulating, assess the situation, and tailor our response to it."

** Five, ten, thirty years on
------------------------------------------------------------
We look back and reflect to shape the future. For decades, anarchists in the U.S. have contributed to anti-police uprisings and protest, laying groundwork for potential anti-ICE resistance and community defense today. On the anniversary of the 2020 nationwide uprising against George Floyd's murder, we've published a retrospective of anarchist involvement in grassroots resistance to policing and white supremacy, extending back to 1992.
The movement against police swelled and grew in the 2010s. It found its own limitations and breakthroughs, as mass resistance to a racist system of policing reached a peak in the summer of 2020. Five years on, we've seen immense investment in development and elaboration of policing and surveillance technologies from the ruling class. Anarchists’ insights from decades of resistance are a critical contribution, as millions seek freedom from capitalism’s authoritarian and racist reaction to mass upheaval and popular abolitionism.
“Why was the fight against racist police murders able to produce the most powerful social upheaval in living memory?”

In case you missed them, check out our recent articles on building mass popular resistance to borders. We have two new accounts describing resistance to mass deportations ([link removed]) in France in the 1990s, including “This Hotel is a Detention Center.” ([link removed]) Participants in the student movement for Palestine have faced intense political attacks for activism: “Then They Came For the Palestinians: How to Respond to the Kidnapping of Mahmoud Khalil” ([link removed]) Here’s a quick guide ([link removed]) for fighting against ICE, including a printable zine. A reportback
([link removed]) from LA looks at high school student walkouts protesting the Trump administration and immigration enforcement. Almost 20 years ago, immigrants across the United States organized a massive general strike ([link removed]) , making May Day, 2006, one of the largest days of protest in U.S. history thus far.
** Circulations

None of this happens in a vacuum. Across borders and movements, worldwide resistance develops through a constant dialogue.
We’ve released zine versions of several of our recent articles, a poster honoring the 60s group Up Against the Wall Motherfucker ([link removed]) , and a handbill remembering the 2020 uprising. Please print these out and distribute them!

** What We’re Doing
------------------------------------------------------------
All of our projects are copyright free. We distribute them for free, or else, where that is impossible, sell print versions for the costs of production and delivery alone. We do this work freely, without seeking financial compensation. The future of our species and of all life on earth is more important to each of us than turning a profit at others’ expense. True wealth is collective, not individualistic.
If you want to help us expand the scope of our efforts, you can support our projects financially ([link removed]) . But the most important thing right now is to form networks that are capable of mutual aid, collective defense, and transformative revolutionary change. Find people who share your desire for a better world and practice taking action ([link removed]) together.
