Aloha Hawai'i Republican 'Ohana,

A new chapter is underway for the Hawai‘i Republican Party, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me to serve as your new State Chair.

Your new leadership team is stepping into this season with optimism, urgency, and a renewed commitment to the values we hold dear—faith, family, freedom, and “The Life of the Land is Perpetuated in Righteousness.”

🔄 Transition Update

I’m pleased to share that we’ve officially gained access to the Hawai‘i Republican Party’s email system. Mahalo to Immediate Past Chair Tamara McKay for completing this key transition step. We are both committed to finishing the remaining handover items promptly and efficiently, ensuring a smooth and productive start to this new term.

🌺 A Turning Point for the GOP in Hawai‘i

Mahalo again for the opportunity to serve. Last weekend’s State Convention marked a defining moment—a reminder that we are bound together by something greater: our love for Hawai‘i and our commitment to Republican principles.

President Ronald Reagan said it best:

“The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally—not a 20 percent traitor.”

Let’s carry that spirit of unity and shared purpose into everything we do.

🚀 We’ve Hit the Ground Running

Over the past week, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with passionate Republicans across our state. I met with a dynamic group of Hawai‘i Young Republicans and had the honor of serving as a guest speaker at the Oʻahu League of Republican Women Luncheon. These events, along with many other meaningful conversations with current and future members, reaffirmed what I already knew: our Party is full of heart, dedication, and resolve.

This weekend, my wife Peggy and I will be traveling to Washington, D.C., where I’ll be meeting with Republican National Committee Chairman Mike Whatley. Strengthening our relationships at the national level is a top priority as we position Hawai‘i to play a more impactful role in the future of our Party. I look forward to sharing more updates soon!

🎯 Our Mission: Unify. Recruit. Grow. Win.

Over the next 100 days, we are relaunching our foundation with purpose. A major part of this effort will be the “Unify and Grow Tour”—a statewide initiative to engage members face-to-face in every county to victory on November 3, 2026.

This isn’t just a reset. It’s a full assessment and build from the ground up. From Precinct Presidents to future candidates, we’re equipping our team with the tools, training, and inspiration to lead and win.

📌 Our Focus Areas:

  • Unify our ‘ohana across islands, generations, and perspectives
  • Recruit leaders and candidates who champion faith, family, freedom, and aloha
  • Grow our base of conservatives precinct by precinct
  • Win elections in 2026 and beyond by building trust and delivering results

We need everyone to join this movement. Whether you’ve served for years or are just stepping forward now—your voice matters. Your effort matters. Your presence is exactly what we need.

Let’s move forward—together.

With gratitude and commitment,

Art Hannemann
Chair, Hawai‘i Republican Party
