John, in a minute, I'm going to ask for your support in defeating my MAGA opponent in my next election, but first: I'm proud to have spent over 30 years as an elected official in our community, and I've worked hard to make South Florida a safe, welcoming place, where our rights are protected.
But today, ahead of the 60th anniversary of Griswold v. Connecticut, I'm reminded that our rights are still very much in danger — thanks to the MAGA extremists constantly looking to insert themselves where they don't belong.
Just this week, the Trump Administration revoked a Biden-era policy that required hospitals across the country to perform emergency abortions, regardless of their state laws.
It was a step forward toward ensuring that folks could have full access to the reproductive care that they needed and it allowed doctors to do their jobs without fear of legal repercussions, but the Trump Administration and their MAGA minions simply don't care.
And in a state where abortions are prohibited right around the time most women even begin to suspect they're pregnant, I've spent my entire career advocating for the government to stay out of our doctor's offices and out of our family-planning decisions.
But the road to a better future is one where we weed out MAGA extremism by continuing to elect voices who have our best interest in mind.
Organizing for the next election starts now, John. My team and I are building a strong coalition of grassroots supporters to ensure my next campaign is a success. With so much at stake, will you join my team with a donation of any amount you can spare?
