Legislative Update
As we work to wrap up the 2025 legislative session, it's deeply concerning that our Governor has chosen to leave the state while critical negotiations are still underway. With much left to accomplish, this is not the time for absence.
Let’s not forget that the session began with 23 days of inaction when House Democrats failed to show up, delaying our work and ultimately forcing a special session. Now, with the June 30 fiscal year deadline looming, we are still without a finalized state budget or tax bill.
One of the most contentious issues, the proposed Paid Family and Medical Leave program, threatens to significantly increase property taxes across the state especially at a time when families are already feeling financial pressure.
There is still a lot left to finish. We need leadership. We need presence. And above all, we need to put Minnesotans first.
It’s time for the Governor to stop fiddling while Rome burns.
