Make America Flatline Again
The Trump administration this week rescinded a 2022 guidance that mandated hospitals provide emergency abortions under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), even in states with strict abortion bans. Apparently, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services stated that the Biden-era directive caused legal confusion and did not align with the current administration’s policies. Which, to be fair, tracks—not a lot aligns with the current policy of “let them all die.”

GOOD NEWS ALERT! Illinois Is Doing the MOST!
Hey Gov. Pritzker—you’re our favorite billionaire! Wanna be our bestie? We love what you’re doing with the place! Gov. Pritzker is fired up to cattle brand his name on a bill that safeguards access to mifepristone, no matter how the healthcare Gollums over at the FDA try to remove access to abortion medications.

And more good news! The Illinois legislature passed a bill that mandates that public universities with student health centers provide access to contraception and medication abortions starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. EXCUSE THE HELL OUT OF US—Illinois may have been the 21st state, but they are NUMBER ONE in our hearts. Keep doing the damn thing, prairie pals!

New Feminist Buzzkills Episode: Drops TODAY!
