John- we're in the midst of the first Pride month under the (resurgent) Trump administration. Across the country, we’re celebrating our continued existence in the face of a hostile federal government. That continued existence is due, in part, to the incredible advocates across the country whose daily efforts are connected to a long lineage of struggle. We are not, and have never been, alone.
A4TE is here to connect everyone to our wider mission of building trans advocacy in every state. From opportunities to turn parties into fundraisers, support our nationwide efforts financially, tell the Senate to protect trans health, and more, this Pride, get connected to the movement for trans equality, and bring that movement into your home.
Here are three steps to support A4TE and the trans community this Pride Month:
Our community is urging senators to protect the health and wellbeing of transgender people of all ages by voting NO on a budget that would take millions of Americans’ healthcare coverage away, placing countless lives at risk. As Pride begins, we ask you to join us by contacting your senator today:
One in five trans American adults rely on Medicaid for their healthcare. Contact your elected officials today to denounce any attempt to sell trans people out in a budget reconciliation bill that will be disastrous for our community and so many others.
SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER
Volunteering with us is deeply impactful. You can stay involved all year round by joining our Volunteer Action Network! We are actively seeking volunteers from every corner of the country to join us in our mission toward achieving trans equality nationwide. There are both in-person and digital/remote opportunities to volunteer!
This June, celebrate with advocacy. No matter how you choose to engage, anything you do to support A4TE and our work for trans equality is a celebration of our community. We are so grateful for your joining us in the movement for trans liberation.
Happy Pride,
Advocates for Trans Equality (A4TE)
